A Brazilian woman has given birth to a humongous baby measuring two feet and weighing a staggering 16 pounds. Angerson Santos was welcomed into the world at Hospital Padre Colombo in Parintins, Amazonas State on January 18 after his mother had a C-section birth.Medical staff believe the supersize baby is the biggest child to have ever been born in the state, beating the previous held record of 13lbs and 1.8ft, the Mirror reports.
His 27-year-old mother Cleidiane Santos dos Santos had visited the hospital for a routine obstetric consultation. However, doctors quickly detected the abnormal size of the unborn baby and she was told she would need to have a C-section as her son was too big for her to carry till the end of her pregnancy.
Surgeons carried out the C-section he following day and Angeron was born weighing 7.328 kg and measuring 59cm.The not-so-little baby is currently inside an incubator but is in a stable condition and has no abnormalities according to staff at the hospital.
A fundraiser has been launched by the hospital to help the family out with funds for Angerson who doesn't fit into the baby clothes his parents had bought for him due to his enormous size. The facility is taking in donations of extra-large nappies and clothing that will fit babies aged between nine months and a year.
