A West Lothian woman enlisted the help of Scotto lottery actor Tommy Hetherston for a charity concert that raised over £10,000 in memory of her son.Lynne Size, 52, a singer from West Calder who is known as the Rock’n Diva, decided to fundraise for the Diabetes UK charity following the death of her son Daniel.Daniel passed away in June last year, aged just 33 years old.
He had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 22.“Daniel just sat down in a chair and never got back up,” said Lynne. “They eventually put his death down to the long-term effects of diabetes.“He had taken a cardiac arrest about six years ago and was on life support then.
He had been through a lot.Lynne created a bit of a stir during lockdown when a video of her performing the Snow Patrol song run to entertain her neighbours went viral, it was viewed millions of times.Lynne has performed in clubs and pubs around the country as well as the Livi Aid Live event, which raises money for Marie Curie.
She was formerly part of the fundraising committee.She has been singing for 35 years and previously lived in Gran Canaria, where she worked as an entertainer and first met Coatbridge comedian and actor Tommy Hetherston, who is also known as Tommy Tucker.Tommy, the face and voice of “The Scotto” television advert, is well-known for his charity work and was only to happy to help out when Lynne briefed him on what she had planned and he was the host for the evening.The Daniel Size Memorial Concert, a variety show featured a dozen entertainers was held at Fauldhouse Miners’ Welfare Club, with tickets selling out quickly.Lynne gave an emotional performance herself on the night, belting out a number of crowd favourites.After a number of people who had missed out
