A woman who was told she had tonsillitis later discovered she really had leukaemia after searching her symptoms on Google. Chloe-Leigh Todd, 22, had a telephone appointment with her GP after suffering from a sore throat and general illness for a month.
The GP diagnosed her with tonsillitis without seeing her in person. However, after googling her wide range of symptoms which included vomiting, night sweats, and weight loss, Chloe discovered that she was experiencing all the typical signs of leukaemia.
She then attended a face-to-face appointment where she underwent a blood test. Fortunately, Chloe has now been cancer-free for three years and no longer requires any treatment. Chloe Todd, 22, a stay-at-home mum from Gateshead, Tyne and Wear said: "Everyone knows their own body and I just knew it was something serious.
