Mum, 47, died after falling down stairs at home and fracturing skull
dailyrecord.co.ukA mum tragically died after fracturing her skull during a fall down the stairs at her home. Marie Sherratt was discovered slouched against a wall at the bottom of the stairs not breathing in the early hours of September 17 last year.
Her partner Mark Harratt called emergency services and the 47-year-old was given CPR at the scene by paramedics, but they were unable to revive her.
An inquest into the death heard she had experienced a fall two years before and had also suffered several blackouts, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.
Ms Sherratt, of Clowes Road, Bucknall, died from the head trauma sustained during the fall.However, what caused her to take the tumble remains unknown.Coroner’s officer Joanne Gething spoke to Mr Harratt to try to establish what happened.In a statement, she said: “At 12.30am, he was wakened by a bang and realised she wasn’t in bed.
