The Disney tentpole grossed $709 million at the worldwide box office. “Mufasa’s” streaming date was exclusively revealed by People magazine.
Helmed by “Moonlight” and “If Beale Street Could Talk” director Barry Jenkins, “Mufasa: The Lion King” tells the story of how lost cub Mufasa becomes the leader of the Pride Lands.
He befriends the lion Taka after being separated from his parents, and the two embark on a journey that eventually threatens their familial bond. “Mufasa” is a prequel to 2019’s “The Lion King,” a photo-realistic digital remake of the 1994 animated classic that grossed over a billion dollars at the worldwide box office.
