Motorists warned of delays on A90 between Dundee and Perth this weekend due to roadworks

Motorists planning on travelling between Dundee and Perth on the A90 this weekend are being warned to expect disruptions and delays.

Road surfacing improvement works will be carried out on a southbound stretch of the road between Millers of Glencarse near Glendoick and the Pow of Glencarse.The £530,000 project, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will begin at 8pm tonight (November 25) and is scheduled to be completed at 6am on Monday, November 28.Over the duration of the upgrade works a contraflow system will be put in place.The junction on the A90 southbound for Leetown and Cottown will also be closed during the works, with access available via St Madoes and Errol.A spokesperson for Amey said the resurfacing work aims to benefit “more than 17000 vehicles” who use the route through the Carse of Gowrie every day.They added: “The scheme is the latest stage in Amey’s plans to improve the condition of the A90 road surface and reduce the need for more extensive maintenance in future.“Last month Amey delivered road surface improvements between the Pow of Glencarse and the St Madoes overbridge worth £380,000.“Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are not favourable.”
