Motorists warned of delays as section of M8 at Harthill will close for three nights

Overnight work to clean the roof and certify the fall system on the footbridge over the M8 at Harthill Services are set to begin later this month.Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the project over six nights – three nights on the westbound carriageway and three nights on the eastbound carriageway from October 23.For the safety of workers and road users, the westbound M8 will be closed at Junction 4A Heartlands on the nights of October 23 to 25 between 9pm and 5am.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The eastbound M8 will then be closed at Junction 5 Shotts on the nights of October 30 and 31 as well as November 1, again between 9pm and 5am.
