Sam Nicholson admits he’s ‘gutted’ not to be able to help Motherwell, after being ruled out of action for ‘several months’ with a knee injury. The Fir Park club confirmed that the former Hearts midfielder will be out long-term, following results of a scan on Friday that revealed patella damage.Boss Stuart Kettlewell revealed the injury following Saturday’s 0-0 draw at home to Ross County, which had been picked up in pre-season.Kettlewell told the club’s website: “This is a really frustrating situation for both club and player.“I’ve spoken with Sam and will ensure he is fully supported during this lay-off.
He is gutted that he is having to miss more games, after working so hard to get back fit.“From a club point of view, it’s another blow.
Our injury list isn’t getting shorter and we’ve now got one less option in the forward areas.“We’ll look to see if we can bring in some fresh blood to try and cope with the situation.”Nicholson said: “I’m gutted I can’t help the team.
That’s the worst part about this news.“I was feeling so good going into this season and was loving my football.“Thank you to everyone for the support.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
