Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic After headlining Stagecoach in May 2024, country superstar Morgan Wallen will spend a weekend in May 2025 headlining his own newly created music festival, dubbed Sand in My Boots, named after one of his most popular singles.
Wallen’s festival will take place May 16-18 on the shores of Gulf Shores, Alabama, it was announced Thursday. Plans for the event were jointly revealed by Wallen, AEG Presents and the Hangout Festival.
The oceanside site of the latter festival will serve as the grounds for Sand in My Boots. Stacy Vee, a name familiar to California country fans as producer of Stagecoach and EVP of Goldenvoice, shared her enthusiasm for the new festival that is partly her brainchild. “Creating a festival with Morgan has been a dream come true… and some of the most fun I have ever had booking a show,” Vee said in a statement. “I can’t wait for fans to come and experience one of the most eclectic and electric lineups and on-site experiences the world has ever seen.” The lineup and ticketing details will be announced soon, organizers promised.
The announcement set the stage for what is touted as “a highly curated multi-genre lineup with some of Wallen’s closest friends, favorite artists, those who have inspired him, and that he has always wanted to perform with.
