Electricity North West confirmed a 'large' powercut in Manchester this afternoon after a fault at the Worsley substation. 653 customers were cut off from electricity at 2.22pm.

A spokesperson for the company said there had been an 'underground cable fault on the network'. Writing on Twitter, Ellie from the team urged anybody who still had a powercut to call the emergency number 105.
