Momodou Bojang will miss several weeks after the Hibs striker injured himself doing “unsanctioned” extra training on his own.
The Gambian striker went on a road run in order to help increase his fitness but reported back to the Hibees’ East Mains training base with a groin injury, which will keep him out for several weeks, confirmed Lee Johnson ahead of his side’s home Premiership clash against Motherwell this Saturday.
The frontman has made seven appearances since signing from Rainbow FC in the summer. Johnson admits there’s plenty of work to do in order to bring the 21-year-old up to scratch technically, but the Easter Road boss admits he can’t fault his attitude, even if it has ended up robbing him of valuable playing time.
Johnson also revealed that midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes will be sidelined for a while due to an ankle problem, although Kyle Magennis’ return to action softens that blow."He did a long road run and came back here with a strained groin which is not ideal," said Johnson. "I can't really be too critical because he's doing it because he believes it's the right thing to do and it was extra work.
