This video footage captured the moment a plane had to abort landing at Manchester Airport as it battled strong winds from Storm Pia.
The clip captured a Finnair flight from Helsinki attempted to land at Manchester this morning. It was seen 'tilting' in the strong gusts over the runway.
The pilot appeared to almost land the aircraft before taking off again. The pilot was forced to perform a 'go around' - an aborted landing of an aircraft that is on final approach or has already touched down - before eventually safely landing at Manchester.
A spokesperson for the airport confirmed that a number of flights have had to be diverted away this morning due to the winds.
