Mike Tindall has revealed that he keeps it strictly formal with his mother-in-law, Princess Anne, even in private. The former England rugby star, who tied the knot with King Charles' niece Zara Tindall in 2011, opened up on Good Morning Britain today, 4 November.
He revealed that he addresses the Princess Royal simply as "Ma'am." During the chat with host Susanna Reid, when quizzed about what he calls Anne behind closed doors, Mike's answer was straightforward: "Ma'am." Last year, Mike and his co-hosts from The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast, Alex Payne and James Haskell, managed to bag a joint interview with Anne, Prince William, and Kate, Princess of Wales, in their roles as patrons of Scottish, Welsh, and English rugby.
The ex-I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star praised his in-laws for being "amazing" guests. He said: "They were amazing. " Mike highlighted the importance of the interview, noting: "Rugby has been going through a tough time and we wanted to showcase why it brings people together from all backgrounds, it's such an inclusive sport, but it also creates great human beings." He added: "It was more important to showcase why they like sport, why Princess Anne has been a patron of [the Scottish Rugby Union] for 37 years and why she loves the characters in the game.
It accepts all fans and they come from all sides." It comes after Mike previously shared that the royal family don't live like Downton Abbey.
