But we can reveal that he accepted a freebie to watch Celtic play Rangers in a Scottish Cup semi-final.He attended the match at Hampden Park in April 2016 as a guest of Police Scotland while Justice Secretary and he sat in an executive seat after a tour of the policing operation.
We have also uncovered pictures of the SNP MSP watching Celtic on a VIP ticket in the Betfred Cup final against Motherwell in 2017.He is also understood to have watched Celtic at Hampden against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Communities League Cup Final back in 2012 as a special guest.
Matheson choked back tears as he apologised to Parliament.And he blamed his family for the huge bill which he originally tried to get the taxpayer to pay.
