Mhairi Black has blasted Kate Forbes for her "extreme" and "archaic" views. The former MP said that the Deputy First Minister's views on social issues were "out of step with what the SNP has stood for".
Black - who was the youngest MP for 200 years when she was elected in 2015 - warned against Forbes leading the party and said it would drive young voters away.
Forbes sparked outrage in the SNP leadership contest last year when she said that she wouldn't have voted for gay marriage and that people shouldn't have kids outside of wedlock.
The comments resulted in her losing much of her support, but she returned to government when John Swinney became First Minister earlier this year.
