Metallica frontman James Hetfield to 'divorce wife' after 25 years of marriage

Metallica frontman James Hetfield is divorcing his wife of 25 years, Francesca, reports have claimed.The rockstar and his wife had three children together in their decades-spanning relationship, but their marriage is apparently all but over with the couple in the process of divorcing.

James and Francesca first met in 1992, later tying the knot in 1997, and became parents to daughters Cali, 24, and Marcella, 20, as well as 22 year old Castor.The Master of Puppets singer, 59, reportedly filed for divorce from his wife earlier this year, but the split has only just become public knowledge with TMZ reporting James filed for divorce in Colorado earlier this year but has tried to keep their split low-key.

Despite going their separate ways, a source close to the couple claims they are splitting on good terms and are "still in touch" with each other due to their bond parenthood from their three children.

OK! has contacted James Hetfield's representatives for a comment. Prior to the split, James and Francesca lived together in Vail, Colorado, for a "multitude of reasons", including the fact it is Francesca's home town and the quiet nature of the area, The Mirror reports.
