The Met Office has issued a weather warning, advising households to "securely fasten doors and windows" as the UK braces for high winds reaching up to 70mph.

A massive 490-mile-long weather front, the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto, has headed towards Britain after causing destruction in the US and Caribbean.
Now downgraded to a storm, Ernesto is predicted to still be powerful and is part of a series of stormy events forecasted by AccuWeather to impact the UK from Thursday (22 August) into the weekend, reports the Express.
