UK set for 27C temperatures this week as Met Office issues rain warnings

Parts of the UK are expected to enjoy high temperatures of 27C over the next few days - while others will be drenched in rain.

The Met Office has forecast that areas of west and northwest of Scotland could see temperatures of 26C or maybe even 27C degrees later this week.

This warm weather is also expected to extend to parts of Northern Ireland, central and western England and Wales on Friday. Greater Manchester is set to enjoy high temperatures of 25C on Friday, and 23C on Saturday, according to the latest Met Office forecast. Met Office Chief Meteorologist Jason Kelly said: "Repeated areas of rain are likely to affect southern Britain over the next few days, generating some localised impacts into the weekend.
