Temperatures will start to slowly rise in Greater Manchester today after a freezing cold snap. After another night with sub-zero temperatures, the mercury will slowly rise to around 5C this afternoon in our region - the highest it has been in recent days as an artic blast of air swept over the UK.
A mostly dry and cloudy day is predicted by the Met Office today (Friday). Overnight from Friday into Saturday, temperatures of around 3C are forecast before the mercury averages at around 6C during the day.

In Greater Manchester, milder weather will set in with temperatures set to rise to around 12C in the evening as heavy rain and strong winds hit.
