Greater Manchester has basked in glorious sunshine this week - and the bright spell looks set to continue. Summer began to feel like a distant memory last week as a blast of Arctic air hit the UK.

Our region saw temperatures struggle to hit double digits for large spells, while some parts of the country endured lows of below zero degrees.

But the weather can swiftly change, and recent days have seen warm spells of sunshine, with temperatures climbing to 22C in Greater Manchester yesterday (September 17).

Sunny weather is expected to continue into next week across Greater Manchester. The Met Office is currently forecasting five consecutive days of temperatures hitting 20C or above in Manchester from today (Wednesday).
