Met Office issues imminent 'danger to life' warning with a month of rain to fall

The Met Office has issued a rare amber weather warning for torrential rain and flooding for parts of the UK today and tomorrow.

The “danger to life” warning has been issued for mid-Wales, with yellow warnings also in place for other parts of Wales and northern England.

It warns that “homes and business are likely to be flooded” within the amber area, and that “deep floodwater is likely, causing danger to life”.

It also states that there is a “good chance some communities cut off by flooded roads”, and that power cuts are likely.
