Memorial garden unveiled at Moira Anderson Foundation headquarters

A memorial garden honouring Coatbridge schoolgirl Moira Anderson has been unveiled at the headquarters of the charity bearing her name.The peaceful new space at the organisation’s premises at Mavisbank Street in Airdrie includes a central stone specially chosen by Moira’s sister, plus a range of plants and decorations reflecting the 11-year-old’s favourite flowers and colours.It received the royal seal of approval this week with a visit from Lady Susan Haughey, the lord lieutenant of Lanarkshire and the King’s representative in the county, who visited the charity to see the garden in full bloom and to find out more about their work in supporting those affected by childhood sexual abuse.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
