Queen Elizabeth II's final moments have been unveiled in an extraordinary memo recorded by her private secretary Sir Edward Young, which has now been made public.
Sir Edward - the Queen's most senior member of staff - was present at Balmoral when Elizabeth passed away on 22 September 2022.
His memo, according to MailOnline, read: "Very peaceful. In her sleep. Slipped away. Old age. She wouldn't have been aware of anything.
No pain." The document, which is now lodged in the Royal Archives, features in a new biography, Charles III: New King, New Court.The Inside Story, written by Robert Hardman.
