There were emotional scenes in the ITV soap earlier this week when her character Chas Dingle was diagnosed with cancer. Emmerdale previously announced the storyline, adding that the show is working closely with Breast Cancer Now to portray Chas's journey with triple-negative breast cancer, the same disease her mum suffered from before her tragic death last year.
During Monday night's (January 22) trip to the Dales, Chas was devastated to be diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr Liam Cavanagh, who was the one to find the lump during an intimate moment between the pair, accompanied her to the hospital as she received her diagnosis.
