Chu and Warner Bros’ feature take of Broadway musical In the Heights. The actress remains represented Sugar 23 management, Imprint PR and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.
Deadline understands that Barrera herself decided to exit WME. The decision comes a little more than a year after she was dropped from the upcoming Scream VII by Spyglass Media over her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Spyglass perceived the actress’ posts as antisemitic. Barrera responded to the firing on her Instagram Stories, exclaiming “First and foremost I condemn Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia.
