F1's Sergio Perez & Red Bull Officially Part Ways After Previously Extending His Contract, Both Release Statements

It’s official – Sergio “Checo” Perez is no longer an Oracle Red Bull Racing driver in Formula 1.

The 34-year-old Mexican F1 driver joined the team in 2021 and over a week after the final race of the 2024 season, and months of rumors and speculation, he and the team have announced they have part ways.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise to many as Checo has had a lackluster second half of the season, only scoring nine points in the last eight grands prix of the year.

He came in eighth in the drivers championship this year, his worst placement since joining the team.
