Meghan Markle has said it would be “great” if her kids wanted to enter the entertainment industry but insisted on them “carving out their own path.” Speaking to Variety in her first major interview since Queen Elizabeth’s death in September, the former Suits actress talked about everything from her previous interview with Oprah to her relationship with Prince Harry and the Royal Family.
Meghan, 41, also spoke on her extensive acting career and, most notably, whether she thinks kids Archie, three, and Lillibet, one, will follow in her footsteps. The US-based publication asked Meghan: “What would you say if one of your kids came to you in 10 or 15 years and said, ‘I want a career in entertainment’?” The Duchess of Sussex replied: “I would say, ‘Great!’ When you become a parent, you genuinely want your kids to find the things that bring them complete joy. “They’re our kids, obviously, and they’re part of a legacy and a tradition and a family that will have other expectations.” But Meghan said she wants her kids to “carve out their own path” and not lean on who their parents are.
She continued: “If it’s the entertainment industry, great. And also, good luck. “There are so many people that will talk about what opened the door for my children.
But it still takes talent and a lot of grit. We’re creating multidimensional, interesting, kind, creative people. That’s who our kids are.” Unfortunately, Meghan said a return to acting is unlikely for herself but added, “never say never.” “Is it odd, as an actor, to know that other actors will probably play you in the future?” Variety further questioned.
