Meghan Markle's engagement interview with BBC journalist Mishal Husain should have raised eyebrows due to her allegedly "insincere" responses, according to a former Royal Household insider.

The Duchess of Sussex later dismissed the interview as an "orchestrated reality show" in the Sussexes' Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan, which premiered in 2022.

This claim was reportedly rejected by the BBC.Richard Eden, a Daily Mail correspondent, revealed he had spoken to insiders who were working at the Palace when Ms Husain interviewed the royal couple.

They suggested that the Duchess's "performance" should have been a cause for concern, the Express reports. One source claimed that the excitement surrounding Harry and Meghan's engagement overshadowed any doubts about the Duchess's comments. They added: "If you watch it again now, some of her responses seem insincere and her body language is telling."A royal insider also told the Daily Mail that Meghan had complained that Ms Husain wasn't "empathetic" or "warm" enough during the interview.
