Meghan Markle once made a 'special promise' to the late Queen when they first met, but things didn't go as planned. Prince Harry was so excited for Meghan to meet his family, especially his dear late grandma, the Queen.
Their surprise visit to Windsor Castle meant Meghan had to quickly learn how to curtsy from Harry's aunt, Sarah Ferguson. Luckily, Meghan and the Queen hit it off as they talked about her acting and her life in Canada, even though their chat was short, about 20 minutes.
It's said that the Queen told Meghan she could keep acting if she wanted to. But Gyles Brandreth, a good friend of Prince Philip, wrote in his book Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait that Meghan told the Queen she would rather work full-time on royal duties.
He shared: "She did everything she could to make her future granddaughter-in-law feel welcome. She was concerned for her future happiness.
