Meghan Markle "copyrighted" the name Lilibet before she gave birth to her and Prince Harry's daughter according to a royal expert.Royal biographer Angela Levin has slammed the former royal couple after a new book alleges that the late Queen was left furious over false claims that they had been given her blessing to name their baby daughter Lilibet after her.

Lilibet was initially a sweet nickname given to the Queen when she was just a toddler and was unable to pronounce her own name properly.

Her grandfather King George V would playfully call her Lilibet to imitate her own attempts of saying Elizabeth which is how the name stuck, the Express reports.In Robert Hardman's new biography, Charles III: New King, New Court, The Inside Story, it's claimed: "One [aide] privately recalled that Elizabeth II had been 'as angry as I'd ever seen her' in 2021 after the Sussexes announced that she had given them her blessing to call their baby daughter 'Lilibet', the Queen's childhood nickname."Reports at the time claimed that Her Majesty was not consulted about the name but did not feel able to say no whereas the BBC reported that a Palace source said the Queen was not asked by the Sussexes' if they could use her childhood nickname.At the time, Harry and Meghan's lawyers reportedly sent out legal letters to the BBC and other publishers to say the claims were false and defamatory while their spokesperson insisted they had spoken to the Queen about it.
