He then underwent officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a cornet (second lieutenant) into the Blues and Royals, serving temporarily with his brother Prince William, and he completed his training as a troop leader. In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted putting on a loved-up display as they kicked off day two of the Invictus Games in the Netherlands on Sunday 17 April.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who briefly visited the UK earlier this week, have been enjoying their first public appearance in Europe since stepping back as senior royals in 2020.

Indeed Harry, 37, and Meghan, 40, beamed as they met with the competitors, including Lisa Johnston from Team UK, at the competition which supports military personnel and servicemen and women who have fought.

And while arriving at the athletics track at Zuiderpark, the parents to Archie, two, and Lilibet, 10 months, looked like the picture of love as they held hands in front of the watching crowds.
