Medics were left stunned when a mum woke up from a five-year coma after a devastating car crash back in 2017.Jennifer Flewellen was found unconscious at the scene of the crash on the M139, Niles, in the United States, in 2017 and she was rushed to Lakeland Hospital.
Doctors believed she would never wake up from her coma but five years later Jennifer left medics stunned when she regained consciousness, the Mirror reports.On August 25, 2022, she woke up in hospital and in October, she even managed to attend a football game to watch her son Julian play.
Her mum, Peggy Means, told WNDU : "Nobody expected her to wake up. We were told all along that she has anoxia and that because of the brain damage, she'll never wake up, but you never say never." Lifelong friend, Sara Macon, said: "Just having the opportunity to have her here to support him and letting everyone know that she is thriving and she's continuing to get better, and we're just still in shock that it's even possible that she's here.
