McDonald's restaurants see IT outage leaving them unable to serve food

McDonald's has reportedly suffered an IT outage which has left restaurants unable to accept food orders. Customers in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan have reported issues trying to purchase food on Friday morning (March 15).

The Japanese arm of the company issues an apology to customers on social media, stating they might need to "wait a while" before the issues is sorted.

A McDonald's Austria spokesperson said the company was "aware of a technology outage" which is impacting stores. How did it come to this? One customer wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "Just went to McDonald’s to pick up an order and they said their systems were down, can’t process any orders.
