A "maximum BMI for nurses" and an "NHS TV channel" are among the suggestions put forward by the public after it was asked for ideas on the future of the health service.

Hundreds of ideas were submitted in the hours following the national consultation's official launch by ministers on Monday. Topics for discussion include streamlining management, improving pay for NHS workers, and enhancing access to dentistry and social care.

One contributor proposed an NHS TV channel for patients to access physiotherapy exercise sessions, while another suggested free hospital parking.
