Eamonn Holmes made his first showbiz appearance with his new love interest Katie Alexander at the star-studded Irish Post Awards.The 64 year old television presenter, who recently split from Ruth Langsford after 14 years of marriage, was seen enjoying dinner with Katie before the ceremony kicked off.The couple, who were previously spotted together after a Mediterranean cruise earlier this year, chose the event for their official debut as a duo.

Katie, 42, looked chic in a black dress and sophisticated updo, while Eamonn appeared to opt for a black suit. A source told the Mirror: "While Eamonn waited for the ceremony to begin he enjoyed his dinner in the company of his new girlfriend Katie.The pair seemed relaxed and were inseparable." However, despite their united front, Eamonn reportedly requested not to be photographed at the dining table with 42 year old Katie.

The couple's appearance comes after reports that Ruth isn't ready for a new man after the split, according to her close friend and This Morning regular Vanessa Feltz.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Vanessa said: "I don't know if either of us can be bothered." She added: "We'd probably rather go out together and have a laugh and leave men out of it." When asked about her own dating plans, Vanessa replied: "I don't know." She also mentioned that she's "trying her best" and has "dip-toed in the field".
