MasterChef's Christmas specials have been pulled from the BBC schedule as host Gregg Wallace takes a step back from the show during an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour. The 60 year old TV personality is currently embroiled in a scandal with accusations of making crude sexual comments.

A number of women have also accused Wallace of sexual misconduct and groping, charges he vehemently denies. His lawyer has stated: "It is entirely false that he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature".

Despite the ongoing probe, the BBC has been criticised for not removing the current MasterChef The Professionals series from the air.

However, it has now been confirmed that the Christmas episodes will not go ahead, with other shows filling the slots, reports the Daily Star.
