A man was subjected to a ‘sustained’ assault which left him seriously injured after three masked thugs entered his home in Tameside.
Police said they were called to Sandringham Drive in Dukinfield at around 9pm last night (January 31) following reports of a serious assault.
Initial enquiries established that three unknown men wearing balaclavas entered the property before carrying out an assault on a man in his 50s. READ MORE: Widower left devastated after vandal smashes window mural The victim suffered serious injuries following the attack.
No arrests have been made. A large police presence remained at the property until around 4pm today (February 1). Neighbours on Sandringham Drive told the M.E.N this afternoon they were shocked to hear about the incident. “Stuff like this doesn’t usually happen round here,” one resident, who did not wish to be identified, said. “It’s a quiet neighbourhood.” Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
