A man is in hospital with 'serious injuries' after being found lying in the middle of a road in the early hours of this morning (February 12).
Patrolling police officers discovered the unnamed man in the Stretford area of Trafford at around 2.30am. Greater Manchester Police later established he had been involved in a collision with a car on the A56 Chester Road, near the junction with Sydney Street. He remained in custody for questioning on Saturday No age for the victim has been released by police. He's said to have suffered 'serious injuries' and remained in hospital today.
The incident led to the closure of the A56 from the A5145 Kingsway to Davyhulme Road East for several hours. The road only reopened shortly before 9am.
