Maryland's Suranne Jones went from soap star to a household name

This week, the Manchester-born 44-year-old returned to ITV, launching a new drama Maryland, which has won rave reviews from critics and viewers alike after its debut episode on Monday.
Starring alongside Eve Best, the three-part series - which concluded last night - sees two polar opposite sisters, Becca (played by Suranne) and Rosaline (played by Eve), reunited when their mother is found dead on a beach on the Isle of Man.
As they are forced to spend time with one another and work out their feelings of grief, the two estranged siblings reconnect as they untangle their mother's web of secrets and uncover her double life.
