The 79-year-old star plays Cathy in the three-part series, which was created by Suranne Jones, who also leads the cast. Suranne even reckons she 'manifested' Stockard for the role - and 'still can't believe' she said yes.
Maryland sees Becca, portrayed by Suranne, and her sister Rosaline, played by Eve Best, repair their relationship following the death of their mother who was living a double life on the Isle of Man.
Cathy, meanwhile, is their late mum's larger-than-life, island-dweller best friend.
