Justin Bieber faced backlash last week after releasing his new album Justice, which begins with an audio clip from the late Martin Luther King Jr.
The album begins with MLK Jr. saying, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” There’s also a nearly two-minute track titled “MLK Interlude” that follows that moment. Justin received backlash for tying in MLK Jr. into the album because people couldn’t find a connection between him and the music.
Before the album was even released, Justin explained that he was supporting organizations, including The King Center, in honor of the album.
He said, “In honor of #Justice I’m supporting organizations that embody what justice looks like in action.” MLK Jr.’s daughter Bernice King responded
