Martin Lewis has given his "true" opinion on the long-standing tradition of some parents to give teachers Christmas presents.
The financial expert has taken to Twitter following reports claiming he believes that students giving their teachers a gift to show appreciation should be "banned".
While the Money Saving Expert founder said this is "not his view", he does have "slight worries" on personal and financial pressures it can put on people.On Thursday, Martin spoke on Times Radio in which he urged people not to suffer from a "massive financial hangover" in the new year from overspending during the holiday.
He added that he's been "campaigning for years" on banning unnecessary Christmas presents for the "ever growing list of family, friends, teachers that we feel obligated to buy for".
