Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning to all motorists as the UK Government brings to an end its MOT exemption scheme. MOT tests were suspended in March as a result of coronavirus and subsequent lockdown.
Motorists were given a six-month extension to ensure key workers could stay on the road during the pandemic. But now the Liverpool Echo reports that the Department for Transport has announced that tests will resume on Saturday, August 1.
The sudden change in exemption rules means that any driver caught on the road without a valid MOT certificate could face a fine of up to £2,500.
