Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning to drivers as the Government's MoT exemption window is set to slam shut. MoT tests were suspended back in March for 6 months to ensure key workers could keep driving during the coronavirus lockdown.
But now the Department for Transport has said tests will be recommencing on August 1, bringing an end to the period of automatic exemption, the Liverpool Echo reports.
That means drivers can't afford to relax as being caught on the roads without at valid MoT certificate could mean a fine of up to £2,500.
