Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1969 or 1970) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer. Referred to as the "Songbird Supreme" by Guinness World Records, she is noted for her five-octave vocal range, melismatic singing style, and signature use of the whistle register.
She rose to fame in 1990 after signing to Columbia Records and releasing her eponymous debut album, which topped the U.S. Billboard 200 for eleven consecutive weeks. Soon after, Carey became the only artist ever to have their first five singles reach number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, from "Vision of Love" to "Emotions".
Billboard reports that Mariah released a new EP for some of her most iconic hits including Fantasy and Always Be My Baby. There’s an EP for Underneath The Stars and her One Sweet Day collab with Boyz II Men, with each EP offering different remixed versions of each track.
Take the Fantasy EP, it includes a live version of the song performed by Mariah at Madison Square Garden from 1995, as well as an 11-minute Def Club remix, while One Sweet Day includes a cappella versions of the song. It’s all part of Mariah’s plans to celebrate 30 years of her in the music biz, with the popstar teasing her followers on Instagram last month that a slew of surprises await.
