Maria Bakalova has been left "speechless" by her Golden Globes nomination. The 24-year-old actress has been nominated for Best Performance By an Actress In A Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her performance as Tutar Sagdiyev in mockumentary 'Borat Subsequent Moviefilm' and she thinks it is just "incredible" that her work has been recognised.
Maria told Deadline: "A person dreams and dreams and dreams but things are so unpredictable. It's incredible what is happening, I'm speechless. " The star – who played the daughter of Sacha Baron Cohen's Borat in the comedy sequel – is the first Bulgarian actress to be nominated for a Golden Globe and she hopes her success will open up more opportunities for Eastern European performers.
