Russell's 1930s mystery Amsterdam flopped at the box office despite a huge $80 million budget and A-list cast that included Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and singer Taylor Swift, according to studio estimates.The comedy thrilled took in just $6.5 million for third place, suffering from poor reviews despite the big names attached.
It was a shock disappointment for acclaimed filmmaker of Silver Linings Playbook whose splashy ensemble also included John David Washington, Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy, Matthias Schoenaerts, Rami Malek and Robert De Niro.
