The speed limit on the Mancunian Way will be reduced to 30mph following a series of crashes, one of them fatal. The new limit will be introduced on the city centre road from 9pm today (Monday).

Nadia Yusuf, 17, from Moss Side, was a front seat passenger in a Mercedes when it struck a railway bridge on the Mancunian Way at 11.45pm on January 10 this year.
The driver, 23, and another passenger, 18, were also hurt. Today (Monday), the council announced that a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in force from 9pm tonight between Chester Road to the Pin Mill Brow junction for at least 18 months.
