Manchester United greats Denis Irwin, Bryan Robson and Andy Cole believe Erik ten Hag should offer Jonny Evans a longer contract.
The 35-year-old has joined United on a short-term contract as he builds up his fitness after leaving Leicester City. Ten Hag praised Evans for his performance in pre-season against Lyon and included him in the squad for United's tour of the USA.
With United keen to raise funds for new signings this summer, signing Evans could allow them move on a centre-back. The Northern Irishman has a long history at the club and would provide experience in the dressing room.
In the eyes of Cole, Robson and Irwin, they believe Evans would be a solid addition to the squad. All three outlined the merits of handing him a longer deal.
