Bruno Fernandes will miss Manchester United's clash with Liverpool at Anfield next weekend through suspension after being booked in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Fernandes, who has been an ever-present figure for United in the league this season, was brandished with his fifth yellow card of the season in the closing stages after saying something to referee Peter Bankes.
Premier League rules state that any player who amasses five yellow cards within his side's first 19 fixtures of the season must serve a one-match ban.
The Portuguese international had been walking a disciplinary tightrope for more than a month, collecting his fourth booking of the season in the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on October 29.
